Mutant Mayhem: A Spoiler-Free Review
The Good Stuff:
The New-Age T.M.N.T.: The voices of the Turtles have transformed, with an innocence that's endearing. Thanks to the performances of Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, Micah Abby, and Shamon Brown Jr., this movie incorporates modern-day pop culture references that feel right at home.
Master Splinter & April O'Neil: Ayo Edebiri and Jackie Chan bring refreshing new elements to these characters, both fun and engaging.
Animation: A unique hand-drawn effect that can captivate your eyes, making every shot look like a screensaver.
The Bad Stuff:
The Action: While hand-to-hand fighting scenes are well done, the more complex action sequences become less exciting or interesting.
The Antagonists: A missed opportunity with a cast full of recognizable names that could have had more meaningful interactions.
The Verdict:
"Mutant Mayhem" has something for every TMNT fan, new and old alike. From nostalgia to innovation, it sets a new standard for the franchise and gives hope for its future spinoffs.
